Ecrystal
A Non-Contact Solution for Fly Ash Level Detection
Ecrystal creates coal ash sensors that measure and detect coal ash level inside coal-fired power plant hoppers. Ecrystal's Coal Ash Sensors (CAS) product line consists of 3 different product models that can be used in various coal-fired power plant applications.
Product
Point Level Monitoring
Ecrystal's CAS-S Switch Type is designed to perform point level monitoring and detects the presence or absence of material within a hopper/bin at a predetermined point. The material is either present or is absent and the level sensor takes an action with its output accordingly. Point level sensors are typically used to indicate either a high level or a low level condition. They are used to prevent bin overfilling and indicate near or at material outage.

Relays:
These units have 3 relays, all 3 work together, they activate (trip the relay) at an assigned % value and then release (reset the relay) at a different assigned % value. Extra Feature: The 3rd relay can be used by itself to run a system check of the sensor to identify any problems.
Continuous Level Monitoring
Ecrystal's CAS-A Analog Type / CAS-B Bus Output Type are designed for continuous level monitoring and detects how much material is in the bin or hopper at a given time. The sensor will provide a reading of the continuously changing material level within the bin. Continuous level sensors are used for both process control and inventory management.
CAS-A Analog
CAS-A Specifications
Analog output for continuous level monitoring
Includes all CAS-S standard options
Additional Options:
Analog Data Output Options:
0 to 5 volt output (-A5)
0 to 10 volt output (-A10)
4 to 20 mA output (-A420)
Relays:
These units have 3 relays; the relays can work independently. A single relay can be programmed to activate (trip the relay) at 80% and then release (reset the relay) at 50% and the other 2 relays can be programmed to activate and release at different percentages. In Addition to these relays there is a 4th relay an Analog output relay.
Extra Feature: The 3rd relay can be used by itself to run a system check of the sensor to identify any problems
CAS-B Bus
CAS-B Specifications
BUS output for continuous level monitoring
Includes all CAS-S standard options
Additional Options:
BUS Data Output Options:
BUS 485 (-485)
BUS 232 (-232)
BUS CAN (-CAN)
BUS PROFIELD (-PF)

Extra Feature 1: The 3rd relay can be used by itself to run a system check of the sensor to identify any problems
Extra Feature 2: The 4th relay is a BUS relay for input and output. This relay allows the power plant computer system to input changes to the sensor. It should be noted that this type of relay requires additional special wiring to the sensors.
